It has become a norm nowadays for everyone to blame it on the police for all the restlessness that resides in the country. But the fact is that the way this institution is being run, it comes to me as a surprise if its performing at all. For the last 63 years this institution has been extremely politicized, starting from the recruitment process to the people being appointed at high process. Politicizing this institution has led to rampant corruption and thus to its decline.
But still, there are people who are working honestly within this environment under extreme pressure, with meagre salaries. If this institution is properly reformed and its employees given proper facilities, incentives, training and equipment, its tainted image can be removed.
