US midterm elections

US President Barrack Obama must be feeling bitter and letdown as his party could not sustain majority in the House of Representative while they also lost some territory in the Senatorial elections. Though the President has been trying to fulfil the promises he made during his election campaign in 2008, he has not fully delivered on them.

The only thing that really happened, among so many of his change agenda, is the way the international diplomacy is being undertaken nowadays. This seems to be his only achievement. In fact, he was awarded Nobel Prize for the same reason. Being a president in the troubled times, two wars, economic meltdown, healthcare reforms, international diplomacy, growing threat of China, unemployment, was never going to be easy.

It seems the efforts he put into all this have taken its toll as is evident in the recent midterm elections. This is why he took full responsibility of this failure. But it is also a time for him to reach out to his disgruntled voters, and at the larger stage, to the world, to make up on his promise of change. Until that, he remains just a president, not the President.
