Djokovic, Federer drawn for Wimbledon semi-final clash

Defending champion Novak Djokovic and seven-time winner Roger Federer are drawn to meet in the semi-finals of this year’s Wimbledon which starts on Monday.

World number one Djokovic, who is bidding to take another step closer to the first calendar Grand Slam, has defeated Federer in the last two finals at the All England Club.

Djokovic won last year’s Wimbledon championship after winning the final in five sets, taking him to his third Wimbledon title and ninth grand slam.

Veteran Federer, who was defeated by Djokovic last year, is regarded as the greatest tennis player of all time, having won seven Wimbledon titles the most in the championships’ history 5 consecutively from 2003 till 2007, one in 2009, and his most recent in 2012.

Andy Murray, the 2013 champion, is lined up for a semi-final match against fourth seeded Stan Wawrinka.

This year’s Wimbledon Championships are scheduled to be held from the 27th of June, at the All England Club in London.
