The migrant Tamils have the right to live in peace and harmony in Sri Lanka.
The whole of the past history is a clear indication of Sri Lanka’s step-motherly treatment of the ethnic Tamils.
It may be recalled that a large number of civilians had fled [from] the war zone and started migrating as refugees to the southern parts of India. And such exodus may lead to a big humanitarian crisis. In this context, the Sri Lankan government should take urgent steps to prevent the looming crisis in the region. Besides, work on rehabilitation for the displaced should be completed at the earliest.
