Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Sunday said Nawaz Sharif had become prime minister with public vote and not that of Imran Khan so his illogical demands would not be met.
Reacting to the speech of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in Lahore, the PML-N leaders said Imran Khan looked disappointed and did not say anything new.
They called for accountability of Jehangir Tareen and Aleem Khan, close aides of Imran Khan, who they said, also had offshore companies and were indulged in financial malpractices.
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said accountability would not be done on the demand of Imran Khan. Nawaz Sharif, he said, did not become prime minister with votes of Imran Khan. “Imran even did not care if Pakistan got hurt with his irresponsible behaviour. Imran Khan thinks if he cannot become Prime Minister then nobody should be PM,” he added.
He said the Pakistan People’s Party was wiped off from Punjab and now its chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wanted a share of votes so he was demanding resignation of the Prime Minister. Imran Khan, he said, was using abusive language and not doing criticism. If Imran wanted resignation, then he should come to the National Assembly, he added.
Minister for Privatisation Muhammad Zubair said nobody knew as to what Imran Khan wanted. Now as the Prime Minister had formed a judicial commission then why Imran Khan was complaining, he added. He said all the people, who were sitting with Imran Khan, were tax evaders. The PML-N won the latest bye-election in Balochistan and it had also won local bodies and Gilgit Baltistan elections.
He said Jehangir Tareen was a poor person and he should answer how he had become so rich.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri said people from Balochistan could come out for protest in response to activities of PTI. The PTI held a sit-in in Islamabad for six months and now they were doing the same thing again, he noted.
PML-N leader Zaeem Qadri said millions of workers of Pakistan Muslim League-N would protect Raiwind. Nobody would be allowed to hold rally in Raiwind.
The constitution gives wide powers to the Chief Justice for judicial commission, he added.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said not much people attended the PTI rally and the numbers remained at 15,000 to 20,000.
He said Imran Khan would repeat the same things in Faisalabad which he had stated in Lahore.
He said all the members of the Parliament declared their assets.
MNA Daniyal Aziz said Imran Khan looked disappointed in the Lahore rally. “I think he has abandoned the idea of holding rally at Raiwind”. Imran Khan did not say anything new today, he said.
“Imran should have seen what kind of people have gathered around him,” he said while referring to Jehangir Tareen and Aleem Khan,
He said the government would hold talks when it would receive Terms of References (TORs) from the opposition.
Daniyal said that director of International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) had already admitted that the Prime Minister’s name was not mentioned in Panama Leaks.
He said that PM’s resignation would remain a dream for Imran Khan.
He said that Imran Khan had insulted the people of Lahore during his speech, adding that the PTI and its leadership was playing politics on Panama Papers.
He said Imran Khan had already staged a failed circus show at D-Chowk.
PML-N Senator Mushahidullah Khan said accountability of Jehangir Tareen and Aleem Khan should also be held.
The conscious citizens of Lahore had rejected the call of Imran, he remarked.
He warned Imran to desist from holding a rally near Raiwind.
Imran did not believe in laws of the country, he said adding people know how much loans were gotten waived off by Jehangir Tareen.
Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said that Imran was repeating his meaningless and old statements for three years and he could only laugh on his speech.
He questioned as to how many universities had been set up by Imran in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), adding Imran did not provide any job opportunities to employees of KPK.
The minister said the people of KPK should ask from Imran Khan as how many development and welfare projects were launched in the province.
The government of KPK did not deliver anything for the uplift and prosperity of the province and masses, he added.
He termed the KPK Chief Minister and other provincial ministers as thieves.
He said that PTI leader Jahangir Tareen had claimed himself that he has offshore companies, adding that Imran was not pressing on Tareen to quit his foreign companies.
Abid said Imran Khan was doing politics of allegations and unrest in the country. PTI workers and supporters had attacked the national institutions including Pakistan Television (PTV) and Parliament during their sit-in at D-Chowk, he maintained.
He lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for constituting a judicial commission on Panama Papers, adding even though his name was not mentioned in the papers he presented himself for accountability.
He said the government of PML-N was working for the speedy progress of the country as it had a bright national vision for the country and masses.
I winder if the pml-n understands the point. PTI leaders are private citizens. Even if they do have offshore companies, It's their own money. They are not accused of looting national wealth and transferring it overseas. Nawaz is accused of embezzling tax payer money and using it for his personal gain. There is a difference.
PMLN leader are just trying to confuse the issue by putting four people in and press conference. The are drowning the fact by just making speeches and adding more confusion for a Common person.
A person like Daniyal Aziz can be such greedy for money, he is willing to help Nawaz Sharif whose source of money for London property is questionable.
Nawaz Sharif apart from many negative attributes has acting too as his recently acquired trait. One can see in his recent hollow public speeches. I wonder what must be his two sons and Maryam be thinking of his character as father who has trained them to lie and cheat!! He has still not comprehended the possible outcome of his financial indescritions which could be disasterous for him and his household servants trying to defend his dark side.
