Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Allah Dino Khawaja on Saturday directed officials to expedite the cases of compensation and other benefits to the heirs of martyred police officials.
The police chief gave the directions during a meeting held to review matters regarding police welfare.
The AIG Welfare was appointed as the focal person for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with reputed private hospitals to provide best possible treatment to police officers who sustain injuries during encounters with criminals.
Khawaja further directed that the process of dispensation of the compensation and other benefits should also be made easier. He also called for improving quality of education of the children of police officials, providing scholarships to deserving candidates, quality medical facilities and grant of marriage etc.
The IGP ordered for early processing of issues such as gratuity, General Provident fund, insurance, pension and other benefits. He further instructed that the receipt and payment of driving license fee should be through bank and there should be separate account for the purpose.
The IGP directed that the functioning of the police welfare branch be improved and made effective.
