FAISAL ABAD – The party which has been involved in the assassination of hundreds of innocent people in Karachi is now making tall claims and hollow promises to protect the people of the Punjab, said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central executive committee member and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) former chairman Hamza Shahbaz on Tuesday. Commenting on the political campaign of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the Punjab, he said: “It is ironical that those who openly use Kunda system to get electricity connections from the main lines are now posing themselves as the saviours of Pakistan.”
Addressing a public gathering at New Mandi Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, he said there were many Americans like Raymond Davis who were destabilising Pakistan and added that they were a grave threat to the national security. He said those who were clinging to their parliamentary seats despite their fake degrees were not lawmakers; rather they were law breakers. He added that the Hajj scandal that exposed corruption of billions of rupees in Hajj was beyond any comprehension.
“The new avenues of corruption are being opened in the public institutions through the appointments of cronies in the government departments,” he said, adding that PML-N, through its positive and patriotic stance, always stood for the poor in the country and endeavoured its level best to provide relief to the common man.
Other local party leaders, including Osama Hamza, Chaudhary Saif Ullah Cheema, Azhar Abbas Chattha, Nadeem Qasim Khan, Mian Muhammad Islam, Chaudahry Zahid Bhattaywala and Mujahid Noorpuri also spoke on the occasion.
