Last rites of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s adviser on minorities affairs Sardar Soran Singh were performed at his native village here on Saturday.

A large number of people, including activists and leaders of the PTI and other political parties, attended the last rites of Soran Singh who was gunned down in Buner on Friday. Local people and political activists paid rich tribute to Singh for his efforts for peace and stability in the district.

Soran Singh was shot dead by gunmen riding on motorbikes on Friday evening. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed the responsibility for the killing of Singh.

Singh‘s murder has been widely condemned by his fellow lawmakers and rights activists.

Police claimed to have arrested four suspects from the area, three of them from Buner and one from Swabi area. First information report (FIR) has not yet been registered due to legal complications.

According to police sources, FIR will be registered after dealing with legal complications and collection of evidence from the crime scene.

  1. TTP sole intention is to divide Pakistan and its communities. Let us all make sure that they don't succeed. We owe this our children and future generations.
