Chashma Power Plant-II completed, starts producing 300 MW

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has completed construction of Chashma nuclear power plant II with the cooperation of China and the plant has started to produce 300 megawatts of electricity on trial basis.
The project has been completed prior to its scheduled time in a record five year period. The power plant has also been connected to the national grid, a private TV channel reported.
The channel quoting Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission sources said that construction of two other atomic reactors Chashma-III and Chashma-IV with the Chinese assistance has also been started at Chashma. The construction of these two reactors will be completed in the next five to seven years time.
On the other hand work has started to upgrade the production capacity of the current nuclear power plants.
