Flight operations that were suspended after a bomb hoax at Benazir Bhutto International airport on Tuesday morning have resumed after clearance by security agencies.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) spokesman said five flights were delayed owing to bomb hoax, adding that flight operations were suspended at the airport after a bomb scare in two international airlines was reported.

Emergency was declared at the airport. Security officials diverted 10 international flights to airports in Lahore and Peshawar.

Police and security agencies reached the airport and all flights were checked. Two flights were given a security clearance and allowed to take off. Passengers stranded at the airport faced difficulties after flight operation was suspended.
