Seven terrorists of banned organizations were killed in an alleged police encounter at Sharaqpur Road in Sheikhupura late Tuesday night.
According to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), at least 12 terrorists belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) were on their way to Sharqpur when an exchange of fire took place with them.
Seven of them were killed in the shootout and five managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
The police also seized 2 kilogram explosives from the possession of the terrorists.
Following the incident, the law enforcement agencies began a search operation in the surrounding areas.
