PPP to hold interviews for LG offices at Naudero House

Interviews of all the applicants who have applied for the various posts of Larkana municipal corporation mayor, deputy mayor, chairmen and vice chairmen of all five district councils, municipal committees and town committees of the entire division will be held at Naudero House on February 21 before the Divisional Board of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party.

The final decision will be taken by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPI learnt on Sunday.

A meeting was held in this connection under the chairmanship of Divisional Board Chairman Agha Siraj Durrani in which other members including MNA Aijaz Jakhrani & Larkana district General Secretary Fattah Bhutto also participated. All the applicants were directed throughout the Larkana division to submit their applications by February 20 at Naudero House as interviews will be held next day at 10 am at the same place. The sources said that no application had so far been received from Kashmore-Kandhkot district. These sources further said that for the top slot of mayor of Larkana, so far eight people had submitted their applications which include Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Aslam Shaikh, Amir Bux Gaad, Anwar Ali Luhar and others. For deputy mayor, Zafar Ali Shah and Javed Mangi have so far filed their applications.

For chairmanship of district council Larkana, Nida Khuhro, daughter of Provincial Education Minister Nisar Khuhro, Tariq Siyal, brother of home minister Suhail Siyal, former MNA Hizbullah Bughio, who is brother of MNA Nazir Bughio, Sardar Ali Nawaz Jalbani, Benazir Bhutto’s cousin Ashfaque Bhutto, Khan Muhammad Sanghroo, Aamir Zaib Jatoi and others have applied so far.

Allah Dino Bhutto and Dur Muhammad Mirani have applied for chairmanship of Naudero municipal committee. Mumtaz Arbani, Mehar Ali Shah, Ghulam Mustafa Ghaghro, Mushtaque Jalbani and others have applied for chairmanship of Ratodero municipality.

For Kambar-Shahdadkot district council chairmanship, Burhan Khan Chandio and Rehan Khan Chandio have applied who are brothers of MPA Sardar Khan Chandio. Other candidates include Atif Ali Leghari, Izharul Hassan Mahesar, Dr Shah Baig Chandio and others. Kambar municipal chairmanship candidates include Punhal Soomro, Deedar Hussain Wadho, Hazoor Bux Brohi, Liaquat Gopang and others. For chairmanship of Shahdadkot municipal committee, only one candidate Mir Mithal Khan Mugheri has applied so far. For town committee Bahram chairmanship, Ghulam Hyder Khokhar and Ahmed Khan Magsi, for Wagan town committee Khalil Ahmed Wagan has submitted their applications.

For district council Shikarpur, Agha Maseeh Khan Durrani, brother of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has applied, and his another brother Agha Shuja Khan has applied for town committee Garhi Yasin chairmanship. Najaf Kamario has applied for TC Madeji chairmanship having no rival yet. Sardar Muhammad Panah Odho has applied for Jacobabad DC and Mir Abbas Jakhrani for MC Jacobabad.

Agha Siraj Durrani told media that they would finalise the list after interviews and submit their findings to the party chairman for final decision of awarding party tickets.
