Sindh Information Advisor Moula Bakhsh Chandio said on Saturday that whenever Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came into power, he started the politics of persecution.

Holding a press conference at a private educational institution, Chandio said the Sindh government was ready for accountability, but not revenge. He said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) believed in dialogue with the federal government. Chandio said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had confessed that a Taliban leader was treated at his hospital but no action was taken against him. He demanded that every facilitator of the terrorists should be arrested.

“Former President Asif Ali Zardari did not leave the country to hide somewhere. He will be back when his health allows him to,” said Chandio.

He said the provincial government welcomed accountability but it could not accept victimisation. Pointing to the arrests of Islamic State (Daesh) affiliated terrorists in Punjab, Chandio said it was not acceptable that the terrorists were being arrested in Punjab but action was being conducted in Sindh.

Speaking to the media after attending a ceremony in Hyderabad, Chandio said the center may keep a close watch on Sindh but it should also hold itself accountable. He further added that the PPP did not have any enmity with the ruling PML-N.

He said on one side the federal government and its prominent ministers claimed time and again that there was no presence of Daesh (Islamic State) in Pakistan but on the other Daesh militants and affiliates were being arrested in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
