Welcome back to Stars Hollow! Following months of speculation, Netflix is officially reviving Gilmore Girls, the company and Warner Bros. Television announced on Friday, January 29.

Returning for the new batch of episodes are series stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane). ProducersAmy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino and production company Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions are all involved as well.

The show’s title and episode count have not been announced. It is unlikely that Melissa McCarthy (Sookie), who has since become a major movie star, will return.

Fans were sent into a tizzy in October when news of the possible revival broke. Earlier this month, Agena teased the return by posting a photo to Instagram of herself with series producer Helen Pai.

Gilmore Girls, centering on a tight-knit mother-daughter pair interacting with their quirky small-town neighbors, bowed out in May 2007 after seven seasons. The first six ran on The WB, with The CW airing the final season.

Netflix has made a cottage industry of rebooting popular series, including its new season of Arrested Development and the February 26 launch of the updated Full House series Fuller House.
