Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration sealed 86 premises involved in food adulteration during the last one year.
The concerned department during raids collected 330 sample of food stuff and sent 249 challan to courts which imposed fine of Rs. 3,99,400 in 88 cases during the period.
Sources in ICT on Friday said during campaign against sub-standard food outlets, five persons were arrested while 161 cases were pending in court of law.
With regard to cases of adulteration in milk registered so far during the period, the sources said the number of such cases was 67 out of which 10 cases have been decided and amount of fine imposed was Rs. 43,700. The number of under trial cases is 57.
