Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Tuesday said that the government would maintain the policy of peace as human lives were precious.

Talking to a private TV channel, the minister said from the very start, use of power was not the policy of the government and that the government would remain patient as safety of all the citizens including children and women was important.

“The government would never use force and was ready to negotiate with both Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri,” he underlined.

The senator said that both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) would be responsible if the situation got worse.

“The participants of both the sit-ins violated the agreement with the government on a number of occasions,” he said, adding that both the parties assured to remain peaceful and stable at their given places.

The information minister alleged that PTI and PAT wanted the “politics of bloodshed” and had make children and women “a part of their game”.

Rashid said the opposition parties had tried to contact PTI and PAT leadership but they refused to respond and switched off their mobile phones.

A lot of Khan’s demands had been fulfilled but the demands were being changed again and again, he stated.

“If there is any truth in Khan’s stance then he should come on a negotiation table. Only those are hesitant of dialogues who don’t have any logic behind their stance,” he added.
