Hospitalised last month after being set ablaze by a rejected suitor, 20-year-old Sonia of a remote Multan village succumbed to her burn wounds on Tuesday.
Her wounds had become infected as about 50 per cent of her body had been burned, said Nishtar Hospital Burns Department head Naheed Chaudhry, adding she breathed her last this morning.
Police have arrested 24-year-old Latif Ahmed who, according to the girl, had set her ablaze after dousing her with petrol for turning down his marriage proposal.
