Karachi witnessed a surprising development regarding consumer awareness when a citizen lodged an FIR against the K-Electric for its alleged bogus billing.
According to details, a citizen filed an FIR against the K-Electric for extra billing in the New Karachi Industrial Area Police Station. Initially, police officials refused to lodge an FIR but later on orders of the court they booked the K-Electric for overbilling and fraud.
Four K-Electric officials are nominated in the case which is a hallmark in the history of the rights of electricity consumers in Karachi.
