Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took to social media on Wednesday to reject media reports which suggested that his recent marriage with TV personality Reham Khan was on the rocks.
“I am shocked at a TV channel making slanderous statement about my marriage. I strongly urge the media to desist from such baseless statements,” said the former cricketer-turned politician, rejecting the media reports aired on Channel 24 and published in Pakistan Today in a message sent to his 2.85 million followers on Twitter.
The TV channel showed Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami as saying that Reham was staying at Imran’s Bani Gala residence even though she was not welcome there any longer.
The Pakistan Today report claimed, while citing Editor Arif Nizami, who was also the first to break the news of the couple’s marriage even though the PTI chairman kept denying the report for two months before finally confirming it, that Imran had recently returned from London where he had stayed with his children and Jemima, his ex-wife.
Jemima had tweeted photos of Imran and her sons posing together on her Instagram account during the PTI chairman’s stay in London.
