As many as five million children up to five years of age were administered anti-polio drops during the anti-polio drive under the Punjab Health Department’s Extended Programme for Immunisation.
According to a press statement released on Tuesday, children in 13 districts of the province – Bhakar, Toba Tek Singh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Mianwali, Attock, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Rawalpindi, Muzzafargarh, DG Khan, Rajanpur, and Multan – were immunised against polio.
