Following a protest by parents of students against the hike in tuition fees, the Sindh Education Department has issued notices to 30 private schools in Karachi.
According to media reports, the Directorate of Private Institutions Sindh has called a meeting of the administration of 30 major private schools on Friday (tomorrow).
The directorate has also called for the details about monthly fees collected under the head of computer education and security in the past three years by the schools.
Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khoro meanwhile took notice of the situation and called a meeting on Thursday about the registration policy of the private schools.
On the other hand, parents and members of civil society continued their protest outside the Karachi Press Club, urging the government to rein in the school mafia. Reports said only five per cent of the total private schools in Karachi had been registered.
