Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has put at least 605 corrupt officials behind bars while recovered Rs 134 crore in last 15 months.
The government has also taken strict action against habitual absentees in hospitals and schools.
The KP government has registered as many as 205 cases against 873 government officials for embezzlement and corruption. Out of the 873, as many as 605 have been arrested. The total amount recovered from the corrupt officials is more than Rs 48 crore cash while properties worth at least Rs 85 crore.
The anti-embezzlement department is investigating at least 144 cases related to corruption. At least 3,165 more complaints have been registered. More than 1,700 cases are in courts for hearings.
Anti-corruption Director General (DG) said that the government projects are also being subjected to probes. He vowed to not spare anyone if corruption is proved.
