Like other parts of the country, 50th Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with national zeal and enthusiasm in Parachinar, capital of Kurram Agency on Sunday.
A ceremony was held in FC ground Parachinar which was attended by people from all walks of live.
Children presented national songs and tableaus in connection with highlighting the efforts of security forces in protecting the borders of the motherland.
Speaking on the occasion, Political Officer, Shahid Ali Khan and Commanding Officer, Col Umer Malik said that the spirit and zeal of nation in celebrating 50th Defence Day of Pakistan was exemplary.
They said that the Defence Day was celebrated every year, but on the occasion of 50th anniversary, the whole nation was out to expresses their sentiments of patriotism with the motherland.
In the ceremony, the participants paid tributes to the martyrs of the 1965 war and all those who laid down their lives for safety and protection of the country.
A tableau was also presented depicting the incident of Army Public school.
Later, prizes were also distributed among children who performed in presentation of national songs and tableaus.
