The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday directed a petitioner to collect details about possible non-availability of free dialysis facilities for kidney patients in government hospitals.
While taking up a petition on lack of dialysis facilities in government hospitals, a three-member SC bench headed by Chief Justice Jawwad S Khawaja asked the petitioner, Tariq Asad, who had moved the court to issue an order for providing free dialysis facilities to kidney patients, to collect information about whether or not the facility was missing at government hospitals.
The chief justice remarked that the court could not do all the work and that “filing a petition was not the end of the job.” The chief justice said that the petitioner should have collected details from all the provinces about the facility in government hospitals.
The petitioners informed the court that his case had been taken up after five years. The court, after directing the petitioner to submit his reply adjourned indefinitely.
