Four hanged in Gujranwala, Mianwali jails

Four death row prisoners were hanged in Gujranwala and Mianwali on Wednesday.
Death row convict Waqar was hanged in Central Jail Gujranwala. He was convicted for murdering five people, including three children and a woman. Three death row prisoners were hanged in Central Jail Mianwali. Relatives Amaanullah Khan, Muhammad Riaz Khan and Muhammad Mumtaz Khan were convicted for a triple murder that took place in 2006.
The execution of another death row prisoner, Anwar Ali, was suspended in Gujranwala after an agreement was reached with the complainant party. He was found guilty of a dual murder that took place in 2002. The hanging of another triple murder convict, Amaanullah, was also postponed as his appeal is still pending in the Supreme Court.
