Police kill four ‘terrorists’ in Safoora Goth

Police on Wednesday claimed to have killed four terrorists in a shootout at Safoora Goth area.

Dr Najib Khan, SSP Malir, said the shootout took place some yards from the site of Safoora Goth bus attack. He said the suspects were roaming in the area with an intention to commit terrorism. The SPP said arms and two motorcycles were also recovered from the possession of suspects.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Rangers said that three criminals and as many target killers were held during raids carried out on a tip off in different areas of the city.

Moreover, the Karachi police arrested at least 26 suspects from different areas of east zone of the city in overnight raids. East zone police led by SSP Pir Muhammad Shah conducted search operation in several areas including Umar Colony, Railway Lines, Sindhi Muslim Housing Society and PECHS Block 6.

Police interrogated more than 120 people during the operation which lasted several hours. At least 26 people were taken into custody by police including six wanted criminals and six Afghan nationals.
