ISLAMABAD:

Inquiry Commission probing claims of systematic rigging in the last general elections summoned the record of 12 constituencies of National Assembly regarding the printing of additional ballot papers, according to sources.

Off these 12 constituencies, where extra ballot papers were provided, seven belong to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), two to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and three belong to PPP, Jamaat-e-Islami and FATA respectively.

Chairing the commission, Chief Justice Nasir ul Mulk complained about the lack of cooperation on unused ballott papers according to the record of Form 15.

K. K. Agha, amicus curiae of the commission, submitted a report on the condition of storehouses of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where polling bags were kept.

According to the report, there was nothing unusual in breakage of seals of the electoral record. The seals, it said, could also break unintentionally.
