Two robbers killed in encounter

Two robbers were killed while their accomplices managed to escape after exchange of fire with police on Saturday.

The SP headquarters said that police, after getting the information, approached a gang of robbers which was fleeing after committing a robbery in Latifabad No 9 of Hyderabad.

Upon sight of police, the robbers started firing and tried to escape which led to an encounter. In cross firing which continued for more than half an hour, two robbers were killed while their cohorts managed to flee from the scene. The bodies of robbers killed in exchange of fire were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police said the killed robbers were wanted by police in several cases including robberies and other serious crimes.
