Let’s hold these bonds tighter, PM says about Kuwait

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan wishes to further strengthen bilateral ties with Kuwait and increase cooperation in all fields.

He was talking to Speaker of Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim at the Prime Minister House.

The Prime Minister recalled the visit of the Kuwaiti prime minister who visited Pakistan soon after the PML-N government took office, which served to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

The PM briefed him about the parliamentary democratic system in Pakistan and the system of elections at each level. He said democratic institutions are gaining roots in the country and the government is taking important decisions in consultation with all stakeholders.

He said due to the policies of the government economy was now being turned around and key economic indicators have become positive, though the country still faces huge challenges like energy and terrorism. He said tangible steps were being taken to meet these challenges effectively in the shortest possible time.

The PM also invited Kuwaiti investment in Pakistan especially in the field of energy.

Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim conveyed greetings from the Amir, Crown Prince of Kuwait and Prime Minister of Kuwait to the Prime Minister. He regarded the last visit of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq very helpful in strengthening bilateral ties.

He said that the Kuwaiti Interior Minister would visit Pakistan soon to discuss important matters of bilateral cooperation.
