Countrywide electricity shortfall reaches 4,600 MW

As temperature rises with each passing day, the electricity shortfall has reached 4,600 megawatts (MW) across the country with many rural areas witnessing load shedding up to 15 hours.

Official sources confirmed that due to the growing demand, a total of 9-hour load shedding in cities and 15-hour in rural areas in being observed.

The country’s total electricity demand is 15,100 MW against a total production of 10,500 MW, widening the demand and supply requirement to 4,600 MW.
