Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that Karachi and Zarb-e-Azb operations will continue till their logical end.
Talking to media in Karachi on Sunday, he said these operations had been launched with the consensus of all political parties, and the political and military leadership was on the same page in this connection.
He said the constitution did not allow anyone to criticise national security institutions and judiciary. He said it should be top priority of all political parties to respect the constitution.
The minister said the PEMRA had taken notice of Altaf Hussain’s speech while the political parties have also reacted to it. He said Altaf Hussain had realised his mistake and apologised for his remarks.
He expressed the hope that Altaf Hussain would refrain from making such remarks in future. To a question, Pervez Rashid said not a single drop of water could be released in the canal system without permission of IRSA, which has the representation of all provinces. He said no federating unit had any complaint against the federal government.
Earlier, addressing a conference on the role of literature and writers in Peaceful Society’ in Karachi, Pervaiz Rashid stressed the need for promotion of book reading culture in the society. He said people’s connection with the book was vital for peace in the society.
