Supreme Court (SC) has taken notice of illegal entry of Pakistanis in other countries besides seeking details from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in this respect.
Justice Jawad S Khawaja remarked, “Our hardworking, honest youths who are skilled in different sectors and are our asset will continue to go to foreign countries illegally and die there unless hunger, poverty, unemployment, injustice and disregard to their skill are eliminated from this country.”
He further remarked that no protection of life is available to Pakistanis who send foreign exchange amounting to $17 billion to Pakistan. He demanded to know that how many among the Pakistanis have gone abroad legally.
FIA should tell how many such cases there are of Pakistanis having gone abroad illegally, said the judge.
It has become next to impossible for the people to live in Pakistan. There is no employment in the country. Therefore, the concept of going abroad is developing among the people said the judge. We should realise how we are treating our Pakistani brethren. Million of Pakistanis send foreign exchange of billions of dollars to Pakistani every month, he added.
The judge was presiding over a three-member bench of SC during the course of hearing of Dilawar Hussain son of Abid Hussain case here Monday.
The court took notice of growing trend of Pakistanis outflow to foreign countries. The court summoned a report from FIA in this respect and adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
