The United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) has asked civil society organizations all over the world to apply for funding projects to advance and support democracy.

Organizations working in the areas of media, youth, women, democratization, community development, rule of law and human rights are eligible for the project grants, ranging between $ 100,000 and $300,000, according to UNDEF.

Project proposals must fall under one or more of six main areas: media, youth, women, democratization, community development and rule of law and human rights.

Proposals must be submitted online either in English or French and the deadline is December 31, 2014.
