Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Friday formed by the Punjab government to probe Model Town tragedy issued notices to witnesses of the incident.
As per media reports, following a boycott by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahriul Qadri no one from the party appeared before the JIT to record their statements.
In the given situation, the JIT has now issued notices to witnesses asking them to record their statements before the JIT as soon as they receive notices.
At least 14 people brutally killed in Model Town in a crackdown by Punjab police against PAT workers in June.
Qadri had been demanding resignation from Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif before formation of an independent JIT to probe the incident.
