Suicide blast kills at least five in Khyber Agency

A suicide bombing on Wednesday killed at least five people  in a remote area of Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan, a private news channel reported.

According to the report, a suicide bomber blew himself up near a gathering of anti-Taliban peace militia in Pir Mela area in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency.

Five people were killed while at least seven were injured. Two children were also reported to be among the victims.

Security forces arrived at the location while the injured were shifted to a local hospital.

The mountainous area Pir Mela in the tribal valley is considered a hub of militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Al-Qaeda.

Pakistan army has been conducting offensive in North Waziristan and other tribal agencies to flush out militants from the lawless tribal belt bordering Afghanistan.
