The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched operation against various businesses being run in residential buildings in different sectors of the capital.

The authority’s building control section and directorate of enforcement have removed signboards from various houses in different sectors.

The civic agency has also decided to carry out a fresh survey of residential buildings being used for commercial purposes in the city.

CDA Chairman Maroon Afzal has directed that indiscriminate action should be taken against violators in light of the new findings.

The current CDA data puts the number of buildings non-conforming to CDA by-laws in the Capital at 2,057. However, it is believed that the actual number is far higher.
