Govt didn’t ask army to intervene: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD –

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that the neither the government nor the army sought to involve the army in as a mediator in the current political crisis.

Addressing the National Assembly, the PM said that he received a call from army seeking permission to meet with the protesting leaders on their request.

He said that  he allowed the army chief to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

The premier further said that the media misrepresented  the facts.

  1. Who requested whom is not the moot point. The simple fact is the army is involved again in the "dirty politics" of the country. COAS is not trained to request—-only to order. Stop pulling wool over the eyes of the people.
