*Roads leading to police stations are likely to be blocked with containers for cops’ security during I-Day

*Nine suicide bombers reportedly present in Islamabad, five cities of Punjab

Security in Punjab’s capital city Lahore has been put on high alert following security threats a day ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)’s long marches towards Islamabad and all roads leading to state buildings and police stations are likely to be ‘contained’ for the security of the security personnel.

Containers have reportedly been brought in for the security of police stations which will be used to block roads leading to the police stations to ensure security for the police officials.

Pakistan Today has learnt that policemen from 30 police stations across the city have been deputed at various localities of the city including Model Town, Faisal Town, Kalma Chowk, Mall Road, Thokar Niaz Baig following the security threats.

According to sources, security has been put on high alert outside offices of government officials and police officials, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Railway Station, Lorri Adda, Chung Center, Manawa Center, Police Line, Qurban Line and various jails across the city whereas security check-posts have been set up at all routes of entry and exit to the city.

NINE SUICIDE BOMBERS IN PUNJAB:

According to police sources, the police have received reports of terrorist activities during the ‘Azadi March’ and ‘Inqilabi March’.

Sources told Pakistan Today that nine suicide bombers from banned militant outfits have entered Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Okara and are expected to strike during Independence Day ceremonies on August 14 (today).

The sources added that following reports of suicide bombers in the cities, the Interior Ministry has directed RPOs of all cities of Punjab, DCOs, DPOs and Lahore City Traffic Police Officer to take measures to ensure foolproof security during the Independence Day ceremonies.
