Bhutto assassination case hearing adjourned till Aug 23

Rawalpindi Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has adjourned till August 23, hearing of Pakistan People’s Party leader Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case due to non presence Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Special Prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar.

The statements of prosecution witnesses were to be recorded and they were to be cross questioned on Saturday.

Former CPO Saud Aziz, former Rawal Town SP Khurram Shahzad, former president Pervez Musharraf’s counsel Javed Safdar and other accused were present in the court during the in-camera trial at Central Prison Adiala.

FIA told the court that special prosecutor Azhar cannot appear before court. ATC’s Judge Pervez Ismail put off the hearing of the case till August, 23 without proceeding further.
