Allama Tahirul Qadri has challenged Nawaz Sharif for a debate. Many would be excited to view the show but it is an unfair proposition because the PM is taciturn while the Allama could go on talking for hours if not days without asking for water. Against the Allama, I suggest to pitch in redoubtable Maulana Fazalur Rehman. Both are religious leaders even though Allama Qadri is a few notches above Mualana Fazalur Rehman since he is a Shaikh-ul-Islam. Believe it they both have great facility with words and are exceptionally shrewd.
There is no reason for Allama Qadri to challenge simpleminded Nawaz Sharif who once carried him on his shoulders to perform umrah. While performing the holy rituals, MNS could never imagine that the birdlike man riding on his shoulders would someday challenge him to debate. However, MNS is on good terms with Maulana Fazalur Rehman and therefore should ask him to sit in his place against Allama Qadri. It would be some debate. Between the two luminaries, let’s see who chickens out first.
