Lahore High Court (LHC) Tuesday ordered registration of case against police officials involved in a citizen’s murder.
Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sudhu passed the order on a petition filed by Noor Muhammad. The court also sought a copy of FIR by July 9 (today).
Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel arguing before the court submitted that officials of Waryam Police Station at Sargodha had detained a citizen, Javed, and tortured him. The victim succumbed to injuries caused by torture, he added. He pleaded the court to issue directions for registration of a case against the police officials.
However, a law officer told the court that a case had been registered against unidentified people on a complaint by victim’s mother Zubaida. However, the petitioner’s counsel contended that the police had registered a case against an ordinary citizen to save their colleagues.
