No airstrikes today: ISPR

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) denied media reports of airstrikes in North Waziristan on Thursday.

A spokesman of ISPR giving details of North Waziristan Agency, said that Wednesday’s air strikes in North Waziristan killed 60 terrorists.

In retaliation, terrorists targeted military camps by mortar fires and rockets.

An encounter near Mir Ali area of also took place on Wednesday afternoon in which 11 terrorists were killed and 4 security forces personnel embraced Shahaadat, added the ISPR spokesman.

He said that on Thursday, sanitization around Mir Ali involved neutralization of 2 x Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Three soldiers injured in yesterday’s clash with militants were shifted to CMH Peshawar.

He added that no air strikes were carried out in NW today but after militants attacked Miranshah camp, local commander retaliated with full force.

On Wednesday, at least 60 militant suspects were killed in airstrikes on the bases of Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) in NW.

The group is comprised of Turkic-speaking militants from Uzbekistan and Uighurs from Xinjiang province of China.
