*Mehmood demands judicial inquiry into Punjab Youth Festival scam
People of Punjab have been fooled by planting of fake representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records in the Punjab Youth Festival 2014, said Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed in a letter written to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday.
Mehmoodur Rasheed stated that billions of rupees were looted during the Punjab Youth Festival 2014, adding that the Punjab government reiterated its devotion to merit, but this case is making fun of all its claims.
He said that the Punjab Youth festival 2014 is a test case for the chief minister. Now he must hold transparent investigations of the event and order a judicial inquiry of it, he said.
The opposition leader said that several millions of rupees were paid to the officials witnessing different events at the festival, without any formal documentation.
Moreover, he claimed that Shahbaz Sharif has lost his command over provincial affairs and he must inquire about it from his son MNA Hamza Shahbaz.
