The local traders in a meeting chaired by Traders Action Committee Central Organizing Secretary Ajmal Baloch passed a unanimous resolution calling upon the Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan, CDA chairman and ICT deputy commissioner to immediately cancel the NOC for holding an industrial exhibition in the capital’s Convention Centre in April 2014 otherwise they will launch a strong protest against this venture.

Addressing the meeting, Baloch said that 15 years ago Islamabad district administration had signed an agreement with Traders Action Committee to ban any industrial exhibition in the federal capital which was signed by former Islamabad deputy commissioner Amjad Nazir.

He said the implementation of said agreement is not being ensured which is a cause of great concern for local traders. He said two years ago, traders with unity had foiled an exhibition in sector G-9 and if Woman Chamber of Commerce organized any exhibition or Mina Bazaar in Convention Centre, it will also be foiled at any cost. If it caused any law and order situation, the local administration will be responsible for all consequences. He said that traders will move the Islamabad High Court against holding any exhibition in Islamabad because such activities badly damage the business interests of local traders.
