Pakistani crew members will reach home on Monday

The six Pakistani crew members of the recently released vessel MT Morning Glory are now expected to reach home on Monday, said Ansar Burney Trust International Director Shagufta Burney Advocate.

Earlier it was expected that all 21 crew including six Pakistanis of MT Morning Glory would be released today (Thursday) from Libyan detention and handed over to the respective embassies including that of Pakistan in Tripoli after all had been cleared by the Libyan court at Tripoli.

Shagufta Burney said due to a delay in release of six Pakistanis from Tripoli detention centre and holidays on Friday and Saturday, now crew will be released and handed over to Pakistan embassy on Sunday and they will reach home on Monday.

She thanked the Libyan attorney general’s office and the Libyan government that the crew of MT Morning Glory comprising six Pakistanis, six Indians, three Sri Lankins, two Syrian, two Sudanese and two Eritrean will be released on Sunday.

The six Pakistani crew of the vessel are Mirza Noman Baig (Captain), Ghufran Marghoob Ahmed (Chief Officer), Syed Muhammad Mehdi Shamsi (2nd officer), Syed Asif Hassan (3rd officer), Naik Zada (crew member) and Muhammad Irshad (crew member).
