8 uplift schemes will complete by June: Sharmila

Special Assistant to Sindh chief minister for culture and tourism, Sharmila Faruqui, has expressed satisfaction over the pace of work being carried out on eight development projects of culture and tourism department.

Presiding over a meeting on Friday regarding on-going development schemes, she said there would be no compromise on the quality of development work.

She directed the concerned executive engineers to complete the schemes on time without any delay. She was informed that all eight schemes would be completed by June 2014.

She also chaired another meeting regarding development schemes being carried out under the annual development programme (ADP) in her department.

She took a brief on physical and financial progress of the schemes including establishment of open air theatre at Larkana, establishment of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Museum at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library, Larkana, establishment of Museum at Mithi, rehabilitation/renovation of Masoom Shah Minaro and Library at Sukkur, improvement of facilities at Keenjhar Lake Thatta, establishment of Motel at Nagarparker in Tharparker, construction of rest house/provision of tourists facilities at Haleji Lake Thatta, extension/repair and renovation of Shah Jehan mosque Thatta.

The meeting was attended by DG Culture Manzoor Kanasro, MD Tourism Ghazanfar Ali, Executive Engineers of Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Sukkur among others.
