The secretary agriculture informed the meeting that prices of tomato had increased in market due to shortage of imports from India and after April 15, its prices would be reduced after the arrival of the new crop.

He said that prices of tomato could be reduced through improvement in the supply from India. He suggested potato from India could be imported by waving 25 percent duty which would help reduce its rates.

He said that there was 649,000 tonne wheat in stock and a target of 3.5

million tonne wheat procurement had been fixed this year.
