Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has postponed its meeting under protest on non participation of secretary and additional secretary information and national heritage therein.
Committee met Tuesday under its Chairman Senator Kamil Ali Agha at the Parliament House. Senators Farhat Ullah, Farah Aqil and senior officers of PTV and Ministry of Information and National Heritage attended the meeting.
The committee chairman said meeting was held after five months and agenda related to PTV matters was to be discussed. On the other hand, Ministry of Information and National Heritage secretary and additional secretary had not attended the meeting while briefing given to the committee was also incomplete, he indicated. This institution has violated orders of this committee as well as parliament, prime minister and court, he held.
