Karachi police in its pre-dawn targeted operation in different areas of the city have arrested 74 alleged militants among 8 banned outfit members on Sunday.
According to reports, the crackdown was launched after six cops were killed in terrorist attacks on Saturday in Landhi. As many as 32 suspects were held in Landhi number 4, 6 and 89.
42 suspects including members of some banned organisations were arrested during a raid in D-area of Qayumabad. Others were arrested during an encounter in SurjaniTown area.
According to SSP Orangi, weapons were also recovered from the arrested militants.
“The militants came here from Waziristan for terror activities” SP Chaudhry Asad told media.
