Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Saturday directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Parvez Khattak to shape an emergency plan for eradication of polio and other harmful diseases from the province, a private news channel reported.
Taking strong notice of World Health Organisation’s declaration of Peshawar being the largest reservoir of endemic polio viruses in the world, Khan instructed the CM Khattak to plan a strategy to save children from lethal diseases including polio.
The CM assured his party chief that a comprehensive programme will soon be set up in Peshawar to eradicate the polio epidemic from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
